Our Photo Competitions
During the course of the year, f4 Group members are invited to join in the photo competitions arranged for the membership. As you can see, these competitions allow entries in all formats, so as to cater for members taking slides or digital images.
The Photo Competitions are :-
Photographer of the Year Trophy –
is a twin track competition with 5 rounds for slides as well as 5 rounds for projected digital images. There are two trophies and members may enter either or both tracks of 5 rounds each. The trophies are awarded to the member gaining the most points from each of the rounds of their competition. This runs from January to December, and adopts subjects chosen by the members.
Picture of the Year –
a special competition held each January, to select the best picture from the previous year’s competition rounds. Entries qualify by being the winning pictures of all of the 10 rounds.
Summer Outings Rose Bowl –
is awarded to the member who wins the competition for pictures taken during the 12 summer evening outings in June-August. This competition is open to both digital images and slides.
The Landlord's Cheetah Trophy –
is awarded to the winner of the competition for the best picture taken during the f4 Group’s annual trip. This competition is open to both digital images and slides.
YCPG Print Competitions –
the f4 Group enters several print competitions within the Yorkshire Coastal Photographic Group, and all members are encouraged to submit prints to be considered for entry.
Kodak Van Trophy –
is awarded to the member who wins the occasional Photographic Treasure Hunt, based on taking the best pictures gained by solving the clues. This competition is open to both digital images and slides.
